COTTAGE IN TŘEŠŤ

Study 2021
Třešt' u Jihlavy
J. Vlček, J. Kusbachová

In a modern cottage for a young couple in Třešt', the architects have managed to fit everything needed into a relatively small space while leaving its maximum potential. The investor's wish was to create a cottage from natural materials in Scandinavian style, so we chose larch wood for the facade.

The main living space extends over two floors, with steps up to a cosy double bedroom that can be closed off with a sliding panel for maximum privacy. The living area features a sofa bed directly in front of a large folding window, so you have maximum contact with the terrace and the nature around you if you want. On the other side there is also a view of the garden. The heating of the cottage is provided by a wood-burning stove and infrared heating panels.

The chalet is also equipped with a sauna and a built-in hot tub in the terrace above the pond. The cottage is designed in a low-energy standard and there are photovoltaic panels on the roof, which heat enough hot water from spring to autumn.
