Kusbachová In a modern cottage for a young couple in Třešt', the architects have managed to fit everything needed into a relatively small space while leaving its maximum potential. The investor's wish was to create a cottage from natural materials in Scandinavian style, so we chose larch wood for the facade. The main living space extends over two floors, with steps up to a cosy double bedroom that can be closed off with a sliding panel for maximum privacy. The living area features a sofa bed directly in front of a large folding window, so you have maximum contact with the terrace and the nature around you if you want. On the other side there is also a view of the garden. The heating of the cottage is provided by a wood-burning stove and infrared heating panels. The chalet is also equipped with a sauna and a built-in hot tub in the terrace above the pond. The cottage is designed in a low-energy standard and there are photovoltaic panels on the roof, which heat enough hot water from spring to autumn.

Lejdar in cooperation with Kvalitář studio The IPR container is our smallest container project, which was created in cooperation with the Kvalitář studio. The aim was to produce a multi-purpose presentation mobile container for rent. On the basis of this project, we were approached by the Institute of Planning and Development of the City of Prague (IPR) to supply a mobile unit to present the new metropolitan plan, the so-called "Uzemak". The mobility of the container allowed for easy movement around Prague, where it was used to meet the public and debate the metropolitan plan. The visual was based on a white, minimalist design that emphasized the main message and information banners and the IPR logo. The interior furnishings, made of steel profiles, were custom designed and included a table of a length equivalent to the 13 folders of the metropolitan plan. Doors served as boards for displaying banners, while a removable staircase offering a theatrical scene invited passersby to interact. The entire project was delivered in its entirety, including the transportation solution. The container was moved with the help of a boom truck and the wiring was designed to make the container easily connectable to public lighting in agreement with the city.

Vlček, J. Gabriel, P. Lejdar, M. Hanková The reconstruction of an apartment building in Karlín with the addition of loft apartments was designed as a new layer that becomes a full-fledged part of the building and its appearance does not disturb the roof landscape or the architecture of the surrounding houses. The interior design concept is a generous fluid space with a minimum of partitions. The heart of the layout is the dining room with kitchen and living room. We compensated for the shortcomings of the attic space with a view of the Vítkov hill and large studio windows that visually enlarge the space. The investor's wish was to create a minimalist, bright space - the solution is a white apartment, united by an oak floor with a light glaze. The icing on the cake is the master bedroom connected to a spacious bathroom and a freestanding bathtub. The project also included a proposal to renovate the facade of the entire house and renovate the common interiors.

Jan Gabriel, Ing. arch. Eva Svobodová Photo: Filip Šlapal Slightly sloping land is located in the direct vicinity of the Lipno reservoir. The location of the building on the plot is chosen so that the main living area offers a view of the water surface. The mass of the house refers to the typology of the original Sumava cottages. The black facade made of burnt larch contrasts with the light interior made entirely of spruce biodesk. The timber-framed building is based on a stone platform that flanks the building on three sides and creates a covered and uncovered terrace. The layout of the ground floor of the building is designed as an open airy space connected to the exterior, which is elevated in its main part up to the ridge of the roof. The attic contains two bedrooms and a gallery. Movable sliding wooden shutters are designed on the ground floor for a sense of security and privacy. The nature garden is dominated by a mature swamp oak. Important elements : 1 Filling in gaps The new building gently complements the street frontage and naturally responds to its scale and character – including the gable roof, cornice height, and the rhythm of the facade. 2 The double face of the house Traditional street and green courtyard – each facade reacts to its surroundings differently, but consistently. While the house is calm and structured towards the street, it opens up and comes alive towards the courtyard. 3 Greenery as a tool for climate and privacy The courtyard is designed to be vegetatively active – with flower boxes, trees and vertical greenery that shades, cools, dampens noise and defines private space. 4 Minimalism in details Metal linings, matching sheets and textured plaster form a finely articulated whole – what is important is not ostentatiousness, but precision and harmony. l RD Břevnov 13

Monika Danielová In a clearing between the ponds in the rolling landscape of Czech Canada, we designed a small wooden apartment with two bedrooms and bathroom facilities. The entire pavilion is raised above the ground, perched on boulders and steel footings. We have reduced the mass of the building by dividing it into three simple blocks connected by a polygonal entrance space with overlooks. The pavilion, with its vegetated roof and weathered wooden facade, conceals a minimalist interior made of postcard CLT panels combined with cement slates and generous glazing to contact the landscape outside the windows.
