Jan Gabriel, Ing. arch. Eva Svobodová Photo: Filip Šlapal Slightly sloping land is located in the direct vicinity of the Lipno reservoir. The location of the building on the plot is chosen so that the main living area offers a view of the water surface. The mass of the house refers to the typology of the original Sumava cottages. The black facade made of burnt larch contrasts with the light interior made entirely of spruce biodesk. The timber-framed building is based on a stone platform that flanks the building on three sides and creates a covered and uncovered terrace. The layout of the ground floor of the building is designed as an open airy space connected to the exterior, which is elevated in its main part up to the ridge of the roof. The attic contains two bedrooms and a gallery. Movable sliding wooden shutters are designed on the ground floor for a sense of security and privacy. The nature garden is dominated by a mature swamp oak. Important elements : 1 Respect for the working-class context The project is based on the character of the original workers' colony - it preserves the street line, typical height and proportions of the house. The morphology and material concept of the front facade honors the historical context and local identity. 2 New courtyard shield The gable facade facing the courtyard now opens up significantly through large windows, connecting the main living room and terrace with the courtyard and garden. The living space thus expands beyond the boundaries of the original floor plan. 3 Opening barns towards the garden The original barns remain in their rough form, but they are now opened up to the garden. This creates a visual and functional connection between the individual parts of the property and at the same time new possibilities for use - for example, for seating, a summer kitchen or smaller social events. 4 Use of birch plywood in the interior The interior furniture was designed from birch plywood, which gives the space a clean, contemporary expression. The material's lightness and subtle pattern support the overall sobriety and visual coherence of the design.

The nature garden is dominated by a mature swamp oak. Important elements : 1 Filling in gaps The new building gently complements the street frontage and naturally responds to its scale and character – including the gable roof, cornice height, and the rhythm of the facade. 2 The double face of the house Traditional street and green courtyard – each facade reacts to its surroundings differently, but consistently. While the house is calm and structured towards the street, it opens up and comes alive towards the courtyard. 3 Greenery as a tool for climate and privacy The courtyard is designed to be vegetatively active – with flower boxes, trees and vertical greenery that shades, cools, dampens noise and defines private space. 4 Minimalism in details Metal linings, matching sheets and textured plaster form a finely articulated whole – what is important is not ostentatiousness, but precision and harmony. l RD Břevnov 13

Při navrhování klademe důraz na kreativitu, individualitu a funkčnost, které odrážejí naše inovativní přístupy. A PARTMENT FOR GRAPHIC DESIGNER Study 2016 Realization 2016 - 2018 Prague - Bubeneč P. Lejdar, J. Pecharová, S. Krčilová Photographer: Lukáš Hausenblas The apartment was created by converting an original commercial space on the ground floor of a historic apartment building in Prague. The space, accessible directly from the street, has always served as a shop - during the First Republic as a butcher's shop, later as an almond, a photographic studio and most recently as a travel agency. The unconventional multi-level space is newly divided into a kitchen area accessible by an entrance with a window directly from the street, a work and rest area in an inset semi-open floor above the kitchen and a private space in the intermediate level, accessible by a second entrance from the hallway of the house with a corridor, a pass-through bathroom and a bedroom. The aim of the design was to restore the original genius loci; a minimalist, economical interior with a minimum of furniture, maximum lightness and airiness of the structured space, preserving and restoring as many original elements as possible.

HOUSING NEAR THE CREEK IN PITKOVICE Study 2017-2018 DUR 2018 DSP 2020 Prague-Benice P. Lejdar, J.Gabriel, J.Vlček, A. Peteráková Quiet, slightly winding street with traditional gables of houses. At the other end of the plot and a few metres below, a green meadow of a natural park with the Pitkovice stream. At the same time in the centre of Benice, with amenities at your fingertips. Qualities that are miles away from the satellite character of the housing. On unconventionally elongated plots, we have designed eight individual houses of different sizes, architecturally contemporary and sober, with an emphasis on sustainability and low-energy solutions. The result is a compact development of two house types - four houses with a traditional silhouette with brick tiles, rendered gables and timber fences, naturally linked to the typical surrounding development along the street. The second quad of houses, set into the hillside one storey below, with flat vegetated roofs, larch cladding and generous glazing, completes the frontage of the development towards the valley. The two types of houses form a soft transition between the street and the park, at the same time forming an urban unit together. Show More
